Home again, home again!

We all had such a wonderful week visiting with family.  We hung around the house at the beginning of the week and then we got to see Granny and Poppy.  On Thursday we went to South Carolina for Thanksgiving and saw lots and lots of family.  We stayed with Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Gene; got to spend time with Aunt Trina and Uncle Skip and so many cousins.  Of course, Granny, Poppy and Aunt Kristen were also there.  There is even a picture below of us with a bunch of our third cousins (we think!).  Kitt is doing a great job with using the potty and Garet is starting to show just a little bit of interest.  As you can see from the pictures we had so much fun all week long.  We are also getting very excited about Christmas.  Tonight we got in our strollers and walked around our neighborhood seeing lots of beautiful lights.  We know there will be lots of Christmas excitement in coming weeks.  We talked about it last week, too, but we want to take this opportunity to mention how very thankful we are.  We have wonderful families and so many friends who love us and care so deeply about us.  Thank you!  We had so much fun visiting our family and wish we were able to see them more often.  The time we do have is  so special and allows us to make memories that will be very special for a long time.  Hopefully you had a wonderful time to be thankful with your family and friends as well.  We all truly have so much for which to be thankful!

What a fun Thanksgiving weekend we all had in SC with so many relatives and friends. I hope you all had as much fun as Poppy did. It was wonderful being together for the long weekend and Poppy is looking forward to Christmas in Savannah. See you then. Love you lots! …Poppy

Hello Sweet Girls, What a terrific blog you gave us this week. What was best of all is that I was a part of it as we were all able to spend Thanksgiving together. You met new relatives, and Garet took a special liking to Molly. And, to think she gave you girls three of her outgrown skirts! I was happy to be able to go with your mommy for your yearly doctor visits and Ryan’s 6 month check up. That was special for Granny. I am counting down the days until I see you in Savannah. So until then, stay well and remember I love you lots and pray for you every day. Granny

Growing up….

We are all growing so much around here. Ryan turned 6 months old this week! In some ways it is hard to believe it has been six months already and in some ways it it hard to remember what it was like before she was born. Kitt is getting so good at using the potty. She even went out and about a couple of times this week without a diaper. Garet is such a good big sister to Ryan and she is getting better and better at riding her tricycle. As you can see, Kitt and Garet helped Mommy make pizza again this week and they also helped Daddy build a house with the Lincoln Logs. We spent as much time as possible outside this week while the weather is still nice. Ryan is also loving getting to eat cereal like a big girl. She even thought she would help out and feed herself this week. We all love having Aunt Kristen live here as we got to see her twice this week.  We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We are thankful for so many things and at the top of our list is you–the people who love us and who care so much about us.  Thank you!

Way to go, Kitt. It sounds like you are really doing well at being potty trained. And, Garet, I love the photo of the Lincoln Log House that you and your Daddy built. You did a really good job! How did the pizza taste that you made? I love the way you stand on your stools by the kitchen counter. And Ryan, you are getting so big and growing so fast that it won’t be long at all before you start doing all the fun things that your sisters do. Have you all enjoyed having Aunt Kristen come by to visit? Well, I’d better go but I’m looking forward to seeing you all for Thanksgiving. Love you lots! …Poppy.

Hello Girls, I am truly thankful for you girls every day – not just on Thanksgiving Day! What a great blog you wrote this week! Kitt, do you have a new hat with matching scarf – I don’t remember seeing it. You were quite a “sight” with helmet on top of woolen cap! Congratulations on learning to use the potty. I know it won’t be long until Garet does it, too. Ryan, how comfy you look lying on Aunt Kristen. I’ve seen you do that same thing with Auntie Kristin so you just “snuggle” in wherever you are! I can’t wait until Tuesday when we get on the road to travel to see you. Until then, I’m sending you love and kisses. Granny

Back to “normal”

GAMA left on Monday and we got back into our normal routine.  We were sad to see her go, of course, but will look forward to spending a whole week with her at Christmas!  We say “normal” because every week is different around here and this one was no exception.  As you can see Ryan is starting to use Kitt and Garet’s tablets and is also checking out the remote controls!  She is learning so quickly.  Kitt is getting very good at using the potty but is not quite there yet.  Ryan is also getting to be a big girl in the tub as she is sitting in the tub seat with Kitt and Garet.  She also got to eat food for the first time.  As you can probably see, it was a big hit! Parky, Aunt LeAnn and Uncle Barry came up on Saturday to celebrate Kitt, Garet and Parky’s birthdays!  We had such a fun time playing at the park, walking the trail, eating Mexican at Mr. Rob’s, having cupcakes and chocolate cookies and then playing more at our house.  We are so glad we all got to celebrate together.  Ryan also got to do something very special with Mommy–they went together to vote.  Ryan slept through most of it, but was still considered a “Georgia voter!” We got to see Aunt Kristen a couple of times today and are excited for her first day of work tomorrow.  Daddy took some time on Friday to take Kitt and Garet to art class which was a special treat for all of us.  Mommy made us a turkey for the door for Thanksgiving and she was pretty proud of it that she thought she would show you the picture.  We hope you enjoy the pictures this week and we will look forward to seeing you next week! Hi Girls! Poppy enjoyed reading this week’s blog and seeing all of the pictures of you. Was it quiet after GAMA left on Monday? It appears that you had another fun week and I can see that Ryan is getting into all of the activities herself. I’m glad you were able to see Parky and celebrate your birthdays together. Somehow, I knew that Mr. Rob’s would be part of the week’s activities too. And Kitt, aren’t you a big girl now by using the potty! I wouldn’t be surprised that after watching you, Garet will also start using the potty. Are you enjoying seeing Aunt Kristen more often now that she has moved to Atlanta? I know she really enjoys spending more time with you, too. I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Thanksgiving. Love you! …Poppy

Hello Girls, I don’t know where this week has gone that it has taken me almost the whole week to tell you how I loved this week’s blog – as I do all the blogs. How adorable everyone looks, and I think there are some new outfits being “sported” this week, too. I’m counting down the days until I see you. As usual, I’ve been busy putting together some things to take up to Atlanta/S.C. Great Aunt Trina and Great Aunt Bonnie like a special cake I make so I’ve been busy getting those made for them. I think we are going to have a fun Thanksgiving as we have some new relatives to meet – Lucas and Dallas. So until I see you next week, I’m sending you lots of love and kisses and prayers! Granny

I forgot to mention it in my first post for this week, but Ryan, I am very impressed that you are eating solid food now. It won’t be long before you join your sisters eating cheese dip at Mr. Rob’s. And, by the way, that is a very cute turkey wreath. Mommy did a great job making it. Did any of you girls help??? Poppy

Trick or treating and other treats!

We continued to have a really great time with family this week.  As we told you last week, Aunt Kristen moved here so we are so excited to get to see her just about any time we want.  She found an apartment and we went to see it.  Kitt especially loved playing with Aunt Kristen’s makeup while Garet liked trying on her shoes.  Ryan liked sitting on the couch watching everyone else!  Granny and Poppy stayed for most of the week and we loved having them here. GAMA is still here, and we are glad for such a long visit with her.  While “Superstorm Sandy” wrecked havoc on many people’s lives, it brought us a very special surprise: Uncle Michael.  He couldn’t get home to NYC so he came here for 2 days!  It was so much fun to have him here.  This week was also Halloween.  Kitt and Garet went to a Halloween party at school and then we all went trick-or-treating.  Ryan wore her third costume of the season–this time she was a baby elephant!  It was so much fun to go from house to house getting candy.  Kitt and Garet were really getting the hang of saying “trick or treat” and “thank you” although sometimes they got mixed up on what to say when.  Ryan was carried most of the night simply being an adorable elephant! Music class is still fun for Kitt and Garet and we also had a few trips to the park this week.  One time we ran into A.J. on the trail so it was fun to see him, too.  There are lots of pictures to look at this week plus a fun video of Kitt and Garet dancing to “Elmo’s got the moves.”  Enjoy!

What a fun blog you girls gave us this week which truly was a fantastic week! It was so much fun being with you and all the family. I’m glad you are beginning to readily recognize your aunts and uncles (Mark included). I know how much you love wearing “dancing shoes” and looking in the make up mirror, and Aunt Kristen has lots of shoes and lots of make up brushes for you to try out. It is going to be so nice to get to visit with her much more frequently. It is lonely here for Poppy and me’ but it is only three weeks until Thanksgiving, and we will see you and even more relatives in South Carolina. Have a fun week and remember I love you lots. Granny

Trick or Treat! My treat was spending the week with you girls and all the family!!! Poppy
