Fun, fun, summertime!

It’s really summer time now as Kitt and Garet had their last day of school (well, for a week anyway before summer session begins).  We had plenty of ice cream and lots of time at the pool with Daddy, Granny and even Anna one night.  Mommy and Ryan came along for the ride, too, but they didn’t get in the pool.  Garet also enjoyed some corn on the cob!  As for Ryan, we are really enjoying having a baby sister, although it took us a while to warm up to her. Garet likes to rub her head and say, “She’s nice.  She’s pretty.”  Kitt likes to ask where she is every time she doesn’t see her.  Ryan is getting in to a routine but she still has her days and nights mixed up.  She is a good sleeper and a really great eater!  Mommy weighed her just out of curiosity (even though she knows she’s growing) and she already weighs 10 pounds, 2 ounces!  We had a few visitors this week (well, really Ryan had a few visitors)–there is a picture of her with AnnaBette.  Granny is still here for one more week and is a big help to everyone, of course!  Today we took a short little road trip to see some of Granny’s cousins.  Kitt and Garet hadn’t seen them in two years, and of course, Ryan had never met them.  Mommy didn’t take one picture of us there though.  Sorry about that!  We hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day.  As for us, we will probably be at the pool and playing at home!  We are looking forward to some more visitors towards the end of the week.  See you then!

Hot, hot, hot! It reached 100 degrees in Pensacola today girls. I was wishing I was at the big pool with you where it looked like you were really enjoying yourselves. I spent most of the morning in Milton at the Memorial Day services which were very nice. Then I had to water all of Granny’s plants and fill the bird feeders. I hope you had a nice day today and a good time at cousin Carla’s house yesterday. I’ll bet they were surprised to see how much Kitt and Garet have grown. Did they ooh and aah over Ryan? Well, this is short but I’ll be seeing you soon and looking forward to the weekend. Love you! …Poppy

Hi Angels!
I love being the first person to post on your blog! (That was just a joke to get under your Poppy’s skin!) Ryan, please forgive me for being so rude and not formally introducing myself until now. I am your Aunt Kristen. Your Mommy and I are sisters, just like Kitt and Garet are your sisters. That means your Granny and Poppy are my Mommy and Daddy.
As I will tell you many, many times as you get bigger – and as Kitt and Garet will probably share with you as well – I don’t know if I’ll ever be a Mommy myself, but I love you and your sisters as if you were my own beautiful little girls. I worry about the three of you and think about the three of you and wish and hope all the best things life has to offer for you more than you’ll ever likely know. B/c they were so little and in the hospital for so long, it took me a while to get to meet Kitt and Garet in person, but I’m so happy that I’ll get a chance to meet you in late July, if not earlier! I can’t wait!!! In the meantime, please know how much I love you and think of you ALLLLL the time, OK?
And Miss Kitt and Garet, I just have to tell you how stylin’ you look in those shades! Kitten, you sure are tearin’ up the big pool, huh? You’re just like your Mommy: a little fish. But GG, you still look a little scared, like you were at Lake Lure. But that’s OK: you just go in as much as you like and have a great time doing it!
I can’t believe it’s summer break already! Enjoy your week off before you have to go back to school, which is very important for such smart girls like you!
I can’t wait to see you all soon. In the meantime, remember your Aunt Kristen loves you tons and tons and TONS!!!
XOXOXOXO,
Aunt Kristen

Home again, home again….

I am so happy to be in this world!  I got to come home on Thursday with Mommy and Daddy where I saw Granny again and met my two sisters.  They are loud and fast, but I think we are going to have a lot of fun together when I get bigger!  They don’t seem to really notice me all that much right now but I bet they will when they realize I’m staying! I have already been to the Taqueria where I understand I will be a regular and also to the big pool.  I have been busy doing other things, too, like getting a bath, learning my way around my new crib, eating and sleeping.  I also went to the doctor for the first time, and she was so happy with me that I don’t have to go back for another month!  From Mommy’s reaction to that news, it must be a real switch from Kitt and Garet.  I sleep pretty well but like to wake up during the night and have Mommy all to my self.  Granny is here, too, and she helps out with taking care of me in lots of ways.  Daddy has been very busy taking care of Kitt and Garet but I also like cuddling with him when my sisters are asleep.  I look forward to getting to tell you about all my adventures here.

We have had such a fun week playing with Poppy (until he had to go home), Granny, Anna and Nanny.  We especially liked playing in the water.  Then Mommy and Daddy brought Ryan home.  We like to ask about her every once in a while and peek at her when she’s around.  We’ll get used to her living here soon! In the meantime, we have also had so much fun playing with Daddy as he gives Mommy and Granny as many breaks as possible.  Yesterday, he took us to music class and also to the park.  Today he took us to another park that we had never been to.  We also went to the big pool and the Taqueria, which of course were lots of fun.  We are excited to have Granny here for three more weeks and look forward to all of the adventures we will have together.

I am so in love with all of my girls and have loved every day of being a Mommy.  When I think back on my life, I always knew I wanted to be two things: a teacher and a mommy.  One of those things was just okay, but the other one has exceeded my expectations as I have learned so much about myself, my family, the world through the eyes of a child and also about God, who created these beautiful babies and gave me the privilege of being their Mommy.  I cannot think of anything greater and truly, my cup runneth over.  My dad sent me this poem shortly after Kitt and Garet were born and I came across it again recently.  As I look into Ryan’s eyes, how easy it is to see the face of God.  I see it in her innocence, her trust and her ability to love.  I hope you enjoy it as I am happy to share it with you:

A Newborn’s Conversation with God

A baby asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?”

God said, “Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”

The child further inquired, “But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.”

God said, “Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel’s love and be very happy.”

Again the small child asked, “And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?”

God said, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak.”

“And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?”

God said, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
you how to pray.”

“Who will protect me?”

God said, “Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.”

“But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.”

God said, “Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.”

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, “God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel’s name.”

God said, You will simply call her, “Mom.”

Welcome home Ryan! And hello Kitt and Garet. I loved reading every word of this week’s blog and looking at all of the photos. I was filled with love and emotion as I read about your week and the poem your Mommy put in the blog. I am so blessed to have 3 sweet, loving grand daughters. Poppy missed you this week and can’t wait until I see you again in a couple weeks when I return to pick up Granny. I hope you’re having a good time with Granny and I’m sure Granny is having a good time with you. It looks like you were able to go to the big pool and play in the water. Was that fun? Ryan, how did you like your first visit to the Taqueria? I suspect you may be seeing quite a bit of that restaurant! Well, I’d better go for now. Have a wonderful week. Love always! …Poppy

I love all the pictures! It truly is a beautiful sight to see all three of you with your mommy! She is such a great mommy and loves you so much. Can’t wait to see all of you very soon! PS. Kitt and Garet— LOVE THE HEADBANDS!! Aunt LeAnn

Welcome to the World, Baby Ryan!

So Mommy had good intentions of getting some pictures posted yesterday but it was a busy, busy day!  Kitt and Garet are proud to introduce you to our new baby sister, Maryanne who we will call Ryan.  We haven’t met her yet but Mommy, Daddy, Granny and Poppy all tell us she is beautiful and huge!  She was born at 8:23AM on May 14 weighing 9 pounds, 7 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long.  Mommy was a bit of a celebrity around here as so many people remembered her from last time.  Ryan is doing great and even slept in the nursery last night for almost 7 hours.  Mommy is doing well, too, but they will stay at the hospital until Thursday.  So there are a few pictures below but a whole lot more on this Snapfish page.

Dear Sweet Ryan-

You have no idea what joy your arrival brings to Mommy.  I am so glad to have you in my arms and in this world.  So many people prayed for you while you were in my tummy and prayed for your safe arrival.  While I will miss feeling you move around in my tummy and having you all to myself, I can confidently say I have brought you into a world of people that love you and will protect you from harm as best they can.  You have already met several of those people even on your first day of life but will meet so many more as the days progress.  I will always love you, protect you (as best I can) and be there for you. I love you with all my heart and cannot wait to see what this world and this life have in store for you.

Love, Mommy

Congratulations to the whole family! Ryan is as beautiful as her sisters! Brittany, you look so happy and well. Your letter to Ryan was beyond touching. Ryan is indeed a very lucky girl to be born into a family with so much love. Congratulations again! Nicole (Aunt Kristen’s friend)

Happy Mother’s Day

We had a fun week doing things around the house to make final preparations for the baby.  We played outside a lot before it gets too hot and we also went with Mommy and Nanny to Hippo Hopp one day to play.  We were especially excited to have Granny and Poppy come to town.  They babysat us one night so Mommy and Daddy could go out for dinner for their anniversary and played with us all weekend long.  We are looking forward to having Granny here for about a month and Poppy here for the next few days.  Of course, today is Mother’s Day so we have enjoyed spending the day with Mommy and Granny.  You can see a picture of what we made for Granny.  We are hoping we are going to get to go for ice cream later today but we will see.  We hope you enjoy the pictures today.  Just so you know Mommy will possibly break from the norm and do a blog post tomorrow with information about the new baby so stay tuned!

Summer Lovin’

We continue to enjoy this warm weather!  Mommy must be enjoying it, too, as she has not been taking many pictures this week.  We did want to include our school pictures as they are especially cute if we do say so ourselves.  There are also some pictures of us eating popsicles and playing “basketball” with the trash can.  We got to see A.J. this week for a play date at our house and we also spent time with our friends at school. We went to music class and had some ice cream with Mommy and Daddy.  Daddy even got the bounce house out for us to jump which we both enjoy.  Today Mommy and Daddy took us to the zoo to see some animals.  We especially enjoyed the giraffes and playing on the zoo playground!  We know this week will be busy as Mommy has some final appointments before the baby comes the following week.  There are some things changing around here including the way our car seats are set up which we are not sure about right now, but we know we will get used to the changes and will love the baby!  Until next week……

Hello Girls, I know those icicles were a big hit as it was evident on your faces. Kitt, every time I see you now you have a pony tail in your hair so you must love for your mommy to do that. On the other hand, Garet doesn’t like having her hair combed so she never has a pony tail. I think I also saw some pink shoes which I don’t remember seeing – have you been shoe shopping? What a great idea to play basketball with the trash can – no need for a fancy basket for you girls! Now that your car seats are re-arranged, does that mean there is a third car seat in the car now? I know you girls will want to hold baby, but that can’t be done in the car! Next week I won’t need to blog because Poppy and I will both be there to await the arrival of your new brother or sister. All my friends here are “dying” to know what this baby is; and my dear friend Suellen will be in China so she told me today that she went to AT&T with her cell phone so I can now text her in China! She is the same friend who monogrammed your red canvas totes so, no doubt, she wants to monogram one for the new baby. I think your school pictures were great although your mommy and daddy do a great job taking pictures of you. So until next week, I will pray for you and new baby every day and send you lots of hugs and kisses. Granny

Hello girls. What an exciting week you had with another coming up. I loved the photos of you playing basketball on the back porch, especialy the one of Kitt with 3 or 4 bags hanging from her arms and the ball tucked safely away under her chin. And then there was the one with her arms held high in the air as if she’s blocking a shot by Garet. I’m looking forward to seeing you both next weekend and also the birth of your new little baby brother or sister. Your school photos are great too! Bye for now. Love you! …Poppy

What beautiful pictures! I can’t wait to see the new baby and celebrate with you girls. I’m so excited for your whole family!! Much love to you from Parky and Uncle Barry too! Aunt LeAnn
